Cooked grape-vine leaves are wrapped around a filling of seasoned rice. This vegan-friendly dish makes a great light lunch or dinner or served as part of a meze platter.

Ready to eat. Can be rinsed to remove brine. Serve warmed or cold.

Sarma is one variety of stuffed leaves or vegetables. Other common Sarma (wrapped) and Dolma (filled) types include:

Wrapped cabbage leaves (Lahana sarma)

Stuffed aubergine (Patlican Dolmasi)

Stuffed Pepper and Tomato (Biber – Domates Dolmasi)

Sarma can be vegan or contain meat. The vegan version is called Yalanci Sarma/Dolma (Liar’s Sarma/Dolma)
